A tummy tuck, also known as abdominoplasty, removes excess skin and fat from the abdomen while tightening separated abdominal muscles to create a flatter, firmer, and more contoured midsection. Whether your concerns developed after pregnancy, significant weight loss, the natural aging process, or changes in weight over time, every procedure is tailored to your anatomy and aesthetic goals. At Orange County Surgical Specialists, tummy tuck surgery is performed in our accredited Mission Viejo surgical suite with a focus on beautiful, natural-looking results.
What Is a Tummy Tuck?
A tummy tuck, also known as abdominoplasty, removes excess abdominal skin and fat while repairing separated abdominal muscles (diastasis recti) when present. The procedure creates a flatter, firmer abdomen and restores a smoother, more youthful abdominal contour.
Pregnancy, significant weight loss, aging, and changes in weight can stretch the abdominal muscles and skin beyond what diet and exercise can correct. During surgery, excess skin is removed, the abdominal muscles are repaired when appropriate, and the remaining tissues are tightened to improve abdominal contour. Depending on your anatomy and treatment goals, Dr. Saber may recommend a mini tummy tuck, full tummy tuck, extended tummy tuck, or, for select patients, more specialized procedures such as a Fleur-de-Lis tummy tuck, circumferential body lift, reverse tummy tuck, or panniculectomy. She will recommend the technique that best addresses your anatomy and goals.
